Senior Advisor, Helios Sports and Entertainment Group
Africa's vibrant entrepreneurial and resilient spirit is a reflection of the markets we invest in. It’s an incredibly exciting journey.

Faris Ayoub brings 20 years of investment experience spanning Africa, Asia, and Europe to his role at Helios. As a member of the Sports & Entertainment Strategy Group (HSEG), he combines his passion for Africa’s dynamic creative sectors with his expertise in private equity investing. Before joining HSEG, Faris spent 15 years in Hong Kong, where he founded a consumer-focused private equity firm. Earlier in his career, Faris worked at JP Morgan for a decade, beginning in Leveraged Finance in London and later transitioning to the Principal Investments team in Hong Kong. Between his roles at JP Morgan, Faris spent two years at Helios Investment Partners, contributing to several transactions for the firm’s maiden fund. Faris holds an MA in Economics and Politics from the University of Edinburgh and an MSc in International History from the London School of Economics.
Faris believes private equity investing is fundamentally a people’s business, requiring a deep understanding of counterparties throughout the investment journey. His passion for sports, music, and creative arts now aligns seamlessly with his professional focus. For him, investing in Africa’s thriving sports and entertainment industries and supporting the commercialization of the continent’s extraordinary talent is both fulfilling and exciting.
Outside of work, Faris loves traveling, reading, and staying active. He enjoys blending his personal passions with his professional life, where sports and music have made their way to the workplace.
