Sector expertise

Ahmad Zuaiter has over 25 years of experience as an investment professional, serving senior roles in investment management, investment advisory, and trading. Mr. Zuaiter is the managing member and founding partner of Jadara Capital Partners LLC, an emerging markets specialist fund management firm based in New York, which transitioned to a single-family office advisor in 2017.
Prior to founding JCP in 2012, Ahmad served as a senior portfolio manager at Soros Fund Management LLC in New York and Istanbul, where he managed a long/short, cross-asset class emerging markets mandate with a core emphasis on EMEA and frontier emerging markets. Prior to joining Soros in 2006, Ahmad was a member of the Morgan Stanley Investment Management Emerging Markets Group, also serving as a portfolio manager responsible for both EMEA market coverage as well as several EMEA fund mandates. While at Morgan Stanley, Mr. Zuaiter lead managed the Turkish Investment Fund, the Eastern Europe Fund, and the Emerging Europe, Middle East & Africa Fund. Mr. Zuaiter held investment management positions, both as an analyst and portfolio manager, with Scudder Kemper Investments, EFG-Hermes, and SHUAA Capital (1996-2002). Mr. Zuaiter earned his undergraduate degree from Georgetown University in 1990 and was awarded a Master in Business Administration degree from the Harvard Business School in 1996.
With extensive experience investing in transition countries (emerging and frontier economies undergoing structural transformations) for over two decades, Ahmad is attracted to world-class franchises that offer a sustainable competitive edge, scalable business models, and a proven track record of generating high risk-adjusted returns for their shareholders and a positive footprint on their societies and stakeholders. These markets tend to be neglected, under-researched, and therefore under-appreciated by investors, creating large dislocations in perceived vs. intrinsic value. Ahmad has a keen focus on the ‘top-down’ drivers of risk and growth (macroeconomic, political, social) and employs a disciplined, contrarian, and concentrated approach to investing.
For Ahmad, Africa’s coming transformation offers the world a future of hope and offers Africans a future of opportunity and prosperity. His strategy is special because he deploys capital where it is scarce and impactful, doing so in a concentrated manner (depth over breadth).
Outside of work, Ahmad enjoys travel, poker, woodworking, and surfing.
